5 Reasons Kids Should Learn to Code

Updated: Jul 28, 2020

Coding is like speaking another language – computer language. Since we are surrounded by technology, understanding how and why technology works is a basic literacy in this digital age.

Coding is as much art as it is science. Coding encourages creativity and self-expression. There are always multiple ways to solve a problem and kids are encourage to think outside of the box.

Coding teaches kids to think and visualize abstract concepts, which helps them with real-world problems, science and math.

Coding can be challenging to grasp at first. It teaches kids that even if they don’t get the problem right on their first time, they can solve it, if they keep trying. This perseverance is what will help kids succeed in life and be able to face and overcome challenges.

Coding helps children build confidence. They feel proud being able to build their own game, find solution to seemingly difficult problems and feel good about themselves and continue learning.
