About the Event
Game Design in Scratch – Level Up
Want to take your basic coding skills to the next level - this course is for you! Coders will deepen their understanding of basic coding skills, move on to more complex coding concepts, including conditionals, nested loops and more, and, of course, practice building more involved and complicated games involving Scratch extensions. Our instructors will provide all the tools necessary to learn, but will also allow room for self-expression as every game coders are designing will reflect their own authentic choices and creativity. If it is your first-time taking coding classes, don’t worry, we got you covered and our instructors will bring your coders up to speed in no time. No boring lectures - only hands-on classes! By the end of the course, your young coder will be able to share a library of games they designed and coded.
Web Design with HTML and CSS
Our coders will learn the basics of coding and computer science as they are immersed in web design. Students will collaborate to program websites on Codemoji platform and participate in offline unplugged coding activities and games. Throughout the program, students will design a website and learn to utilize their newly acquired coding skills to advance through interactive lessons. The program will challenge students as they advance through HTML, and CS coding basics and promote the desire to continue their coding learning outside of the classroom.
