Coders will deepen their understanding of basic coding skills, move on to more complex coding concepts, including conditionals, nested loops and more, and, of course, practice building more involved and complicated games involving Scratch extensions. Our instructors will provide all the tools necessary to learn, but will also allow room for self-expression as every game coders are designing will reflect their own authentic choices and creativity.
Concepts we will review:
Computer Science, Coding, Algorithm, Sequence, Events, Variables, Loops, Debugging, Animation
New concepts we will learn: Nested Loops, Forever Loops, Conditionals, Extensions, Sensing, Broadcasting, Game Design Process
No boring lectures - only hands-on classes! By the end of the course, your young coder will be able to share a library of games they designed and coded. Coders will receive take-home projects that will allow them to practice and build on the concepts they are learning in class.
For younger students, if you are new to coding, we recommend completing level one game development course, before joining this course. For older students, prior coding experience is desired but not required to join the course.
Technical requirements: computer, broadband internet, webcam, microphone and speaker or headphones with build-in microphone
